Los Angeles. Singer Dua Lipa has reportedly recently pulled out a music video that cost hundreds of thousands of pounds to make. He said the video was “insensitive” given the conflict in Gaza that began on 7 October.
“I feel very bad for the death of every Israeli and what happened on October 7,” he said in a cover chat for the magazine.
“Right now, we have to see how many people have died in Gaza, and how many innocent civilians have died, and how many more lives are being lost.”
“There are a lot of leaders in the world who are taking a stand and speaking out about the humanitarian crisis that’s happening, the humanitarian ceasefire that’s happening.”
Lipa continued, “I feel like there hasn’t been any kind of discussion about war and oppression. It’s something that we’ve seen happen over and over again. I feel like just being a musician and someone It doesn’t make much of a difference to post about things, but hopefully just showing solidarity, which sometimes you think you can do, is important.”
She apparently pulled the plug on the big-budget music video amid the Israel-Hamas conflict because it included explosions, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
Music Insider told The Sun that the promo, shot before the battle, was pulled after an “emergency meeting” between Dua’s team.
He added: “A video was shot last September for Dua Lipa’s upcoming campaign.”
“The video contained themes of anarchy, including car crashes, demolitions, explosions, fireworks and mob fighting.”
“Dua and her team decided that the release of the video would be insensitive given everything that has happened since October 7 and beyond.”
