Anubhav Sinha Bheed | Censor board imposed 13 cuts on the film mob made on the cruelty of lockdown, PM Modi’s speech was also removed

When the trailer of Anubhav Sinha’s film Mob was released, every soul was going to tremble. People once again saw the era of the epidemic with their own eyes. During the Corona Pandemic, the world had witnessed some hardship which they had never experienced before. Hands and feet from a common man to the governments were swollen in this situation. The epidemic took the lives of people, but those who were alive and were working for their livelihood in some other places far away from their loved ones, their plight became very bad. Anubhav Sinha’s ‘Bheed’ has been released in theatres. The film which features an ensemble cast including Rajkummar Rao, chronicles the hardships and cruelties faced by the people during the initial nationwide lockdown due to Covid-19. However, the film has been embroiled in controversies even before its release. Firstly the director had to remove PM Narendra Modi’s speech from the trailer. Along with this, the censor board ordered 13 cuts in the film. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has given the film a U/A certificate and ordered 13 cuts in it. The details of those cuts and modifications have now been leaked.

These include censoring (CBFC) several profanity throughout the film, as well as mention of communally sensitive words like Corona Jihad, Mahagranth, etc. The film featured less intimate scenes as well as nudity that also featured scissoring. In many places the mention of caste has also been removed from the dialogue. The mention of Tablighi Jamaat, the religious group blamed for spreading Corona in India, has also been cut by CBFC. Another major change in the crowd is the removal of the line that compares the migrant crisis in the film to the Partition of India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech announcing the first lockdown has also been removed. Scenes of police brutality and scenes showing police personnel thrashing migrant workers have also been reduced and all data related to COVID-19 in the film has also been modified. The disclaimer shown at the beginning of the film has also been changed. Also in the crowd are Bhumi Pednekar, Pankaj Kapur, Dia Mirza, Ashutosh Rana, Kritika Kamra, Aditya Srivastava, Kumud Mishra and Virendra Saxena. The film has been shot and released entirely in black and white and does not have any songs.
