Ashwathama closed, Jio studio also pulled its hands

After the immense success of Uri: The Surgical Strike, director Aditya Dhar announced his second film The Immortal Ashwathama in 2020. The film was to be produced by Rani Screwvala under her banner RSVP. In this film too, Vicky Kaushal was to be presented as the hero. The film went on hold due to Corona. After that Ronnie Screwvala pulled back from the production of this film last year.

After this Jio Studio took up the responsibility of making this film of director Aditya Dhar. It is being told that Jio Studios thought of making this film with a budget of more than 300 crores only on the fact that it should not have Vicky Kaushal as the hero but a famous star, that too from South India. Due to these reports, once again this film came into limelight. According to a report by Pinkvilla Entertainment, Vicky Kaushal’s name was cut from the film as soon as Jio Studios’ name was associated with it. Because this sci-fi project of Aditya Dhar was to be made with a mega budget. In such a situation, the producers wanted a big star to be in the film for this heavy budget project. Such a huge project cannot be made just in the name of a good actor. That too at a time when Bollywood films are not performing particularly well. In such a situation, instead of Vicky Kaushal, the names of big stars like Junior NTR, Yash and Ranveer Singh came to the fore.

Aditya Dhar with great difficulty agreed to replace Vicky Kaushal with a big star. When he approached Jr NTR and Yash for the film, both the stars declined the project. After this the film went to Ranveer Singh. He agreed for this film. But Jio did not consider it appropriate to spend 350 crores in the name of Ranveer Singh and now it is being said that Aditya Dhar’s film has been shelved completely.

The pre-production of this film was going on for almost 3 years. For which producer-director Aditya Dhar and the team have already spent around Rs 30 crore. Ultimately the makers decided not to make the film. According to him, it is easier to suffer a loss of 30 crores than to suffer a loss of 300 crores. Now it is being said that Aditya Dhar will start another film.
