Priya Ahuja said, ‘Yes, while working in ‘Taarak Mehta’, artists have to go through mental harassment. Enough is enough…mentally I have also gone through difficulties while working there. But it didn’t affect me much…probably because my husband Malav, who was the director of the show for 14 years, was earning. One advantage of working there was that since I didn’t have a contract, I was never stopped from working outside. Asit Kumar Modi bhai, Sohil Ramani or Jatin Bajaj are like my younger brothers, they never misbehaved with me.

‘Asit Modi does not answer me’
Priya further said, ‘But I have been treated unfairly as far as work is concerned. After my marriage to Malav, they reduced my track. It’s not the same anymore. I have no idea about my track in the show post pregnancy and Malav leaving the show. I messaged Asit Bhai several times asking him about my track in the show but didn’t get any response. Sometimes he used to say that why do you need to work, Malav is working, isn’t he? I am a human being and I did not get this show because I was Malav’s wife. I was a part of this show before marrying Malav. I never got the right response.
Not called in the show for 9 months, no response
Priya Ahuja told how she repeatedly called Asit Modi for work. Called in to know about his track on the show. Even contacted Asit Modi’s team, but never got a specific reply. She said, ‘I feel bad that since Malav has left the show, he has not called or answered my messages. It’s been six months since he left the show and he hasn’t called me for the shoot. I think that’s wrong as an artist. I called up Sohail and requested him to ask Asit ji about my track in the show. I also gave a message to Asit bhai that am I still a part of the show? But I did not get any response from both of them. Tell me even if I am not a part of the show. I’m not dying to come back. But it is wrong that Malav has left the show so now you don’t want to call me. The attitude that has been there in the last 6-8 years, I was quite sure that he would not call me. I had also told Malav about this when he was leaving the show that now he will not call me, nor will he announce that I am no longer a part of the show.
