Melbourne. Australia have included two new faces in their international debut as they reshuffle their ODI squad to face the West Indies, with Richardson and Glenn Maxwell ruled out of next month’s three-match series.
To make up for the lack of Glenn Maxwell and Richardson, Australia has given a chance to young player Jake Fraser-McGurk and fast bowler Xavier Bartlett.
If both these players get a chance in the playing-11 during the series against the Caribbean team, then this pair can make their first international appearance.
Bartlett has been included in the team in place of injured Richardson, while Fraser-McGurk has got a chance in place of Maxwell.
21-year-old Fraser Magarch is being considered the best young player in Australia at present. He scored a century in just 29 balls in the country’s domestic one-day tournament Marsh Cup. Which is a record in List-A and T-20 cricket.
The three-match ODI series against West Indies will begin on February 2 in Melbourne. Matches are also scheduled in Sydney and Canberra ahead of a three-match T20 series from February 9 to 13.
Australia’s ODI squad: Steve Smith (captain), Sean Abbott, Xavier Bartlett, Nathan Ellis, Cameron Green, Aaron Hardie, Travis Head, Josh Inglis, Marnus Labuschagne, Jack Fraser-Magarch, Lance Morris, Matt Short, Adam Zampa.
