The Reserve Bank of India issues a list of bank holidays every month so that customers do not face problems due to the closure of banks. There are a total of 15 bank holidays in April, including many festivals, birth anniversaries and weekends. Mahavir Jayanti, Good Friday, and Ambedkar Jayanti are some of the festivals and anniversaries due to which banks will be closed for several days. Bank Holidays April 2023 list is as follows:
1. April 1, 2023 – Banks will remain closed due to annual closing across the country except Aizawl, Shillong, Shimla and Chandigarh.
2. April 2, 2023- Sunday is a holiday in banks across the country.
3. April 4, 2023- Banks will remain closed in various cities due to Mahavir Jayanti.
4. April 5, 2023 – Banks will remain closed in Hyderabad due to the birth anniversary of Babu Jagjivan Ram.
5. April 7, 2023 – Banks will remain closed across the country except Agartala, Ahmedabad, Guwahati, Jaipur, Jammu, Shimla and Srinagar due to Good Friday.
6. April 8, 2023- Banks will remain closed across the country due to Second Saturday.
7. April 9, 2023- Sunday is a holiday in banks across the country.
8. 14 April 2023 – Banks will remain closed across the country except Aizawl, Bhopal, New Delhi, Raipur, Shillong and Shimla due to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.
9. 15 April 2023- Banks will remain closed in Agartala, Guwahati, Kochi, Kolkata, Shimla and Thiruvananthapuram on account of Vishu, Bohag Bihu, Himachal Day and Bengali New Year.
10. 16 April 2023 – Sunday is a holiday in banks across the country.
11. April 18, 2023 – Banks will remain closed in Jammu and Srinagar on account of Shab-e-Qadr.
12. April 21, 2023- Banks will remain closed in Agartala, Jammu, Kochi, Srinagar and Thiruvananthapuram on account of Eid-ul-Fitr.
13. 22 April 2023- Banks will remain closed at many places due to Eid and fourth Saturday.
14. 23 April 2023 – Sunday is a holiday in banks across the country.
15. 30 April 2023- Sunday is a holiday in banks across the country.
