New Delhi: The Central Government has approved the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana for financial help to small workers, skilled people. Under the scheme, loan assistance will be given to the laborer to learn new skills, buy new equipment and expand the business.
Each worker will be given a loan of up to Rs 1 lakh in the first phase and up to Rs 2 lakh in the second phase, with only 5% interest rate applicable. This will help small businesses and workers to grow their business and improve their economic condition. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that this scheme will bring a big change in the economic condition of 30 lakh families.
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said during the briefing of cabinet decisions on Wednesday that the government has started the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana for the workers of the country. He said that this scheme was announced in the last budget and PM Modi had indicated to implement this scheme in his Independence Day address.
The Union Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Union Cabinet meeting today has approved the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana to support people with traditional skills. Under this scheme, loans up to Rs 1 lakh will be made available on liberal terms. He said that under this scheme, workers would be given Rs 500 per day during training and Rs 15,000 for purchasing equipment and machines.
Benefits of Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana
- The Union Minister informed that under the scheme, loan assistance would be given to the workers to learn new skills, buy new equipment.
- Under the PM Vishwakarma scheme, 30 lakh families will get financial assistance.
- Under the scheme, this assistance will be given to 1 person from 1 family.
- To get the scheme, registration will be done in the Common Service Center of the villages and after 3 levels the final selection will be done.
- State governments will help in the Vishwakarma scheme, but the central government will bear all the expenses.
