How weight loss started
Shivangi told that I decided to start my weight loss journey with the help of my brother Arpit Gupta and sister-in-law Surbhi Kesarwani. He introduced me to the Fitter app and I started my weight loss journey under the supervision of Coach Anjali.

There is no gym in my city so my coach Anjali created a workout plan that I can do at home. Then I bought home gym equipment and ordered a barbell rod, dumbbells and a resistance band for the exercises. In the initial days, I used to work out 5 days a week:
- Day 1 – Lower Body Exercises
- Day 2 – Upper body exercises
- Day 3 – Lower body workout
- Day 4 – Upper Body Exercises
- Day 5 – Relax
- Day 6 – Full body exercise
- Day 7 – Relax.
Workout like this after 3 months
After 3 months, the coach changed my workout plan and now I work out 6 days a week-
- Day 1 – Legs workout
- Day 2 – Upper body workout
- Day 3 – Abs and glutes workout
- Day 4 – Leg Exercises
- Day 5 – Upper Body Workout
- Day 6 – Abs and glutes workout
- Day 7 – Relax. Apart from this, I walk at least 10 thousand steps daily.
Lessons learned from weight loss
Shivangi learned that her focus should be on reducing obesity, not weight loss. It is important to understand that you cannot lose weight overnight. It took a month for my coach to convince me that we don’t want to lose weight, we want to lose fat. She always focuses on reducing fat and says that only after reducing fat you will be able to get in the right shape.
