Mumbai: A shocking incident came to light in Maharashtra’s Navi Mumbai where a Bhojpuri film actor Sudip Pandey was held hostage by the watchman at the behest of the housing society members in the satellite township, however, the police rescued the actor safely after receiving a timely call. The police gave this information on Friday. Police said that actor Pandey was held hostage at the Puneet Chamber Premises Cooperative Society Limited in Vashi. APMC police station is probing the matter.
According to the actor, he was held hostage in the office for four hours on February 08 by watchman Shivam Pandey on the instructions of the society members.
The door to the office opened when media and police rushed to the actor’s aid. Earlier, the actor had lodged an FIR against the society’s former president Vinod Nair and manager Vijay Menon for allegedly extorting money. The society was liquidated due to irregularities and the office bearers of the society admitted that Vinod Nair lied to them.
Misled him and fraudulently obtained his signature against the actor. The new president of the society, Sanjay Ruia, and manager Vijay Menon threatened the actor and kept him locked in their office. Sudip said that he was forced to call the police and the media. Senior police inspector Manik Nalawade said a case has been registered and investigation is underway.
