The Bhojpuri superstar has praised the TV serial Bigg Boss, in which he participated in 2006 and finished third. He said, the TV serial changed his life and career.

New Delhi: Bhojpuri superstar and BJP MP from Gorakhpur Ravi Kishan says he works out daily because ‘Rs 300 to 400 crores have been spent on my face in films and web series’.

Answering Rajat Sharma’s questions in the show ‘Aap Ki Adalat’ to be aired on India TV tonight at 10 pm, Ravi Kishan said, ‘I am a vegetarian and exercise for one to one and a half hours daily, I am a devotee of Shiva, I do puja daily. I do Everyone has business but I don’t have any business. I am an industry myself. Hundreds of crores of people’s rupees are stuck on my face. Still about three to four hundred crores are engaged in films, web series, Netflix. I am doing many big films with Akshay Kumar. The investment of three to four hundred crores is still on my face. So I have to be very careful. I have to keep my producers alive too.

Rajat Sharma: I once heard you say, my body is my showroom?

Ravi Kishan: Yes, all of you also keep yourselves fit. It is important to stay healthy.

Rajat Sharma: You are considered Dev Anand of Bhojpuri films. You bring new heroines in every film. Nagma, Rambha, Bageshwari, Rani Chatterjee, Monalisa, Pratiksha, Neha Tiwari, Anjana Singh, Sangeeta Tiwari?

Ravi Kishan : I used to shoot in three shifts everyday. I shot three films a day and sometimes even five films. My 17 films used to come in a year. My fans also wanted me to come in a new avatar and appear with new characters. Heroines were coming and were becoming superstars. Some used to get busy too. New girls and I used to think that I am making (Bhojpuri) industry. In the third phase, I wanted a lot of actors. I used to introduce new people so that there would be more heroines, more heroes, more people would be there, then the industry would be big and many people would get employment. So he used to introduce many girls in that. Used to give them training. Bakayda used to give full time and attention to him that people should perform in a different way. Bhojpuria society is very big. There is a population of 25 crores. As you also know, there is music in this society from the time a child is born till death. There is a lot of color in their life. There are abuses in marriages too. Many things are very colourful, spiritual, full of literature in our culture. There is land too, it is also of the village, it is also of the farmers. This whole color of Bhojpuria society is very colourful. That’s why some such words come in it (in films) so that people can reduce their tension. People can come and enjoy for two to two and a half hours.

Rajat Sharma: And then sang the song ‘Tohar lehenga utha deb remote se’?

Ravi Kishan : Brother, in front of the whole of India, we hold our ears and apologize for the song Ravi Kishan. We did not sing this song. This song was sung by Udit (Udit Narayan) brother. This song came on the set. Because I used to do three shifts. So I didn’t know. We used to go to another set while sleeping. The song started playing and I had to perform. Had to go to another place after performing. I am a spontaneous person. I do very little homework. I do less reading. I come straight to the set, perform and leave.

The Bhojpuri superstar has praised the TV serial Bigg Boss, in which he participated in 2006 and finished third. He said, the TV serial changed his life and career.

Ravi Kishan: ‘I became egoistic after the films became hits. My wife gave the right opinion and said new show is coming, new season of Bigg Boss, go away. When I left that show after three months, a lot changed. I became very popular and became very normal. Let me see that Shiva, spirituality, wife-children, family life is completely sorted. I came out of a huge prison after three months. Bigg Boss was a spiritual prison for me. Big Boss has made a lot of impact in my life.

Mr. Rajat: Means Bigg Boss reformed you.

Ravi Kishan : Yes, lock you up, you yourself either deteriorate, or you improve yourself. Because it happens from time to time. Neither is mobile. There is no TV. Neither is there anything. Sitting alone, you keep running all the mischief in your mind that what is wrong, what is right… what is this, what is that.

Rajat Sharma: The time you entered Bigg Boss, you were a huge star, you had 17 films in your flow, wasn’t it a risk?

Ravi Kishan : It was a big risk. I thought I would get out, many heroes would come. In the film industry, it is such that if you disappear for two days, then someone else comes. But it is natural. No one waits for you. We have a misconception that the industry is running because of me. No one should have this misconception. Something doesn’t work because of someone. time marches on. But, I took that risk. It was necessary for the whole family to take that risk.
