Bhola, the official remake of Tamil film Kaithi starring Ajay Devgn and Tabu, has failed at the box office. The film, which did a business of around 11.50 crores on the first day, registered a decline of more than 35 percent on the second day on Friday. After receiving mixed response from the audience and critics, it was felt that Bhola’s success at the box office is doubtful. On the opening day itself, the film barely managed to do 10 crores nett business. On Friday, Bhola has collected a net collection of just Rs 6.50 crore. For the film to touch the 50 crore mark by its first weekend, it needs to manage to collect 35 crores at the box office on Saturday and Sunday. However, looking at the business of the last two days, it seems difficult. In such a situation, it can be said that Bhola directed by Ajay Devgan has proved to be another unsuccessful film of this year. Of course, considering the stardom of Ajay Devgan and the high-octane action genre of the film, the collection on day two is surprising.

After Pathan, no film has been able to perform very well in the theatres. Even now Tu Jhoothi ​​Main Makkar, Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway, Mob and Hollywood film John Wick 4 are present in theatres, but none of these films have got bumper success. In such a situation, it cannot even be said that Bhola is suffering any loss from them.

Ajay Devgn’s previous release Drishyam 2 also joined the 200 crore club despite being a remake of the Malayalam film of the same name. According to Box Office India, Bhola has collected just Rs 16.50 crore nett in two days. The way Bhola has been rejected by the audience despite its release on March 30 on the occasion of Ram Navami is a matter of concern. There is no doubt that the film has suffered huge losses due to Ramzan. The fasting audience does not watch films in the month of Ramzan, while the film did not do much on the opening day despite Ram Navami being a holiday.

While the film has been promoted as a high-octane action genre, it performs better in single screen theatres. But surprisingly, the film has not received a very good response even in single screen theatres. Multiplex audiences have definitely given a slightly better response to the 3D version of the film. The film has found a decent audience in Delhi-NCR and UP-Bihar. But the film has disappointed in the mass circuit like Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.
