Bhumi Pednekar to be honored with Disruptor award at Film Festival of Melbourne

Mumbai Actress Bhumi Pednekar will be honored with the prestigious Disruptor Award at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2023.

The actress has carved a unique niche for herself in the film industry with starring roles in films like ‘Badhaai Do’, ‘Bheed’, ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’, ‘Bala’ and many more.

Apart from this, this honor will also be for his efforts regarding climate change. The award will be given to the actress on August 11.

Bhumi will join the audience for a special fireside chat.

Bhumi said, “I am extremely grateful to have been recognized as the Disruptor of the Year by IFFM. This honor means a lot to me. Through my work, the films and roles that I take up, I support and stand for causes. Whatever I do, I strive for climate protection. At the same time, I also try to lead an impactful life.”

The actress said, “My aim is to promote representation of women in cinema and fight for gender inclusivity. Also work towards achieving environmental sustainability and improve society. This recognition from IFFM further strengthens my belief that I am on the right track and making progress.”

Bhumi Pednekar will be presented with the Disruptor Award by a Victorian government dignitary, highlighting a collaborative effort between the festival and the government in promoting influential work in the entertainment industry.(IANS)
