The Patiala House Court decided to modify her bail conditions and said that the actress would have to inform the court and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) three days before leaving the country.

“Seeking prior permission before leaving the country becomes cumbersome and may lead to loss of livelihood,” the court said. In November last year, Jacqueline Fernandes got bail in the money laundering case, but on the condition that she would not leave the country without prior permission of the court. The court said that being a member of the Indian film industry, Jacqueline Fernandes often has to travel abroad. It emphasized that in some situations they have to leave the country at short notice to pursue professional opportunities. The court ruled that Jacqueline Fernandez is required to provide comprehensive details of her travel, including the countries she will visit, the duration of her stay and other details like her residence, contact numbers etc.
Jacqueline will have to obey these conditions to travel abroad
The bail conditions were relaxed on the grounds that the actress had not misused them in the past. Once Jacqueline Fernandez files an application to give information for foreign travel, her passport will be issued immediately subject to submission of a Fixed Deposit Receipt (FDR) of Rs 50 lakh. When she returns from abroad, FDR will be issued and passport will be handed back to her.
Got permission to go to IIFA Awards
Jacqueline Fernandes had earlier moved the court to relax her bail conditions and said that in some situations it takes time for her to take permission from the court to go abroad. In May, after filing a petition, the Patiala House Court allowed Jacqueline Fernandez to attend the International Indian Film Academy Awards (also known as IIFA Awards) in Dubai.
What is money laundering case?
Conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar has been accused of extorting money from businessmen, politicians and celebrities. When he was lodged in Delhi’s Tihar Jail, he allegedly extorted Rs 200 crore from Aditi Singh, wife of pharma major Ranbaxy’s former owner Shivinder Mohan Singh, by posing as a top government official. Earlier, a report said that Sukesh Chandrasekhar had sent a gift of over Rs 10 crore to Jacqueline Fernandes while he was in jail. Sources also told that when Sukesh Chandrasekhar was out on bail, he had also booked a chartered flight from Mumbai to Chennai for the actress. The ED also suspects that the huge amount that Sukesh had collected from the wife of a businessman was given to Jacqueline Fernandes.
