Bobby Deol’s mother saw the film Animal, took the actor’s class, said – you will not do such films from now on

Actor Bobby Deol reveals his family’s reaction to his performance in the new blockbuster Animal starring Ranbir Kapoor and directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. In an interview, Bobby said that his father Dharmendra and his elder brother Sunny Deol have not seen the film yet. But he said his mother was more concerned about the ultra-violent film. Bobby plays the role of Animal’s main rival.

Speaking to Pinkvilla, Bobby said that just like he couldn’t see Dharmendra’s character dying in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, similarly his mother couldn’t see his character dying in Animal. “My mother could not handle the scene of my death,” he said. She used to say, ‘Aisi film mat kiya kar tu, mujhe nahi dekha jaata (You shouldn’t do such films, I can’t watch them).’ I told him, ‘Look, I am standing in front of you, I just played a role.’ But he is very happy… the number of phone calls he is getting, all his friends want to meet me. Something similar happened when Ashram was released.”

In a separate interview with Bollywood Hungama, he talked about his family’s reaction to the film. “My father and my brother haven’t seen it, but everyone else has. They feel exactly the same way the audience is reacting to me. They are naturally biased, but they have always believed in me as an actor and they were waiting for the right film to come along for me.

Asked how his wife and sons reacted to his villainous performance, he said, “My children and my wife, I can only see happiness in their eyes. This is the first time I saw how I influence them as a father. With them, if I was happy I was happy, if I was sad I was sad, if I was angry I was angry… They think I always deserved it, and they’ve seen my failures, and Now they are seeing my success.”

This is a historic year for Deol. While Dharmendra’s performance in the hit films Rocky and Rani was highly appreciated, a few months later Sunny gave the biggest blockbuster of his career with Gadar 2. And now, Bobby is being appreciated for his performance in the hugely successful Animal. The film will cross the Rs 300 crore mark in India today, and recently it has crossed the Rs 450 crore global earning mark.
