On the other hand, MCU people have postponed their film ‘The Marvels’ to Diwali weekend on November 10, where it will compete directly with Salman Khan’s ‘Tiger 3’. Regarding this changing trend, producer and film business analyst Girish Johar says that last year Bollywood people gave free hand to Hollywood films because their condition was not good then. Of course, no Bollywood producer would want to appear in front of big films like Avatar, but if there is a big medium level Hollywood film in front, then it is the compulsion of Bollywood producers to release the film in front of it this year. Now Hollywood people have also started releasing films on earning release date. For the past few years, he has started releasing his films on Diwali – Christmas. If Bollywood people still give him a free hand, then he will not only have to leave his well-earned release date, but will also have to clash with another Bollywood film. Due to postponement of many films last year, more films are ready for release this year. In such a situation, it is better to compete with Hollywood movies than to fight with each other.

Only a few movies of Hollywood were played

In the year 2019, the Hollywood film ‘Avengers Endgame’ became the highest-grossing Hollywood film in India by collecting around Rs 375 crore. Then theaters opened after Corona, then ‘Spiderman No Way Home’, which came in 2021, surprised Bollywood people by earning around Rs 220 crores, who were still reluctant to release their films. Especially because Ranveer Singh’s ambitious film ’83 could not run, it was considered to be released just a week after Spiderman. Bollywood people had vacated the release dates for all the big films of Hollywood in the year 2022, seeing the explosive performance of Hollywood films. Seeing the craze of ‘Avatar 2’, Bollywood people had not announced any film opposite it earlier. Similarly, no Bollywood film was announced opposite Marvel Cinematic Universe’s film ‘Doctor Strange’. But Bollywood people regretted postponing their films in front of many other Hollywood films, because last year only Avatar 2 of Hollywood did a bumper performance. In this regard, Girish says that Hindi filmmakers have gained confidence due to the beginning of the year 2023 with a strong Bollywood film like Pathan. Anyway, except for Avatar 2, other Hollywood films did not do anything special last year. That’s why for the time being Bollywood people have chosen the way to face the challenge to Hollywood.
