Bombay HC dismisses complaint lodged against Salman Khan in journalist ‘assault’ case, now will not have to go to court

Bombay High Court On Salman khan: The Bombay High Court today dismissed the complaint lodged by a journalist in 2019 against actor Salman Khan. The journalist accused the actor and his bodyguard of misbehaving with him. A single bench of Justice Bharti Dangre said that the applications filed by Salman and his bodyguard Nawaz Shaikh are accepted.

The High Court also quashed the summons issued to Salman and Sheikh by a lower court last year. In March 2022, the magistrate court issued summons to Salman and Sheikh and directed them to appear on April 5. Significantly, journalist Ashok Pandey had alleged in April 2019 that Salman and his bodyguard Nawaz Sheikh misbehaved and beat him.

He had filed a case in the Magistrate Court of Andheri and requested to take criminal action against both of them. Acting on the complaint, the magistrate court had issued summons. Following this, Salman had moved the High Court in April last year challenging the summons. On April 5, 2022, the court had stayed the summons while hearing Salman’s petition. Sheikh had also filed a similar petition, after which the summons issued to him was also stayed.

Salman Khan was last seen in Godfather, which marked his Telugu debut. The actor starred opposite megastar Chiranjeevi in the political thriller, which performed exceptionally well at the box office. Now Salman Khan is working in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, which is said to be a remake of Ajith Kumar’s Veeram. Bhai will be seen opposite Katrina Kaif in Tiger 3, the third part of the Tiger franchise. The spy-thriller is directed by Maneesh Sharma. The film is set to release in theaters on Diwali, 2023.
