Mumbai: Filmmaker Boney Kapoor revealed that actor Anil Kapoor had a challenging childhood, but his love for football did not diminish.
Anil Kapoor’s brother and filmmaker Boney Kapoor refreshed old memories while talking to the media in Juhu, Mumbai at the trailer launch of his upcoming film Maidaan on Thursday.
Boney Kapoor told that he and Anil Kapoor used to make goalposts with their slippers in their childhood.
He told, ‘I remember when we lived in Tilak Nagar, all our friends had neither slippers nor shoes. We lived in a one room house, this is where the journey started. Do you know how goalposts were made at that time? Anil and I had slippers, so one goalpost was made from my slippers and one goalpost was made from Anil’s slippers.
He further said, ‘Since then we have been playing football, we keep playing. After the 1983 Cricket World Cup, cricket became so popular that the country’s attention was diverted from football.
The film Maidan stars Ajay Devgan, Priyamani, Gajraj Rao and Bengali film actor Rudranil Ghosh. The film is set to release in theaters on the occasion of Eid in April.
