The only problem with bottle gourd vegetable is that it is prepared in the same way, due to which housewives themselves get bored of eating and preparing it. But now housewives have started using it in a different way. Due to this, the taste of its food has increased and now it is being demanded again and again by the family members at home. Today we are going to tell you about one such delicious dish of bottle gourd which will win your heart. These are bottle gourd koftas. Most of the people eat fried gourd or gourd and gram dal vegetable, but this recipe is completely different from that. It is quite spicy, which will completely open your mouth.
Kofta Of For Material
Bottle gourd – 250 grams
Gram flour – 1 cup
Cumin – half teaspoon
Red chilli powder – half teaspoon
Salt – half teaspoon
Oil – to fry koftas
Gravy make Of For Material
Onion – 1 large finely chopped
Tomato – 2
Green chilli – 2 chopped
Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tsp
Green cardamom – 2 crushed
Bay leaf – 1
Cloves – 2 crushed
Cinnamon – half inch piece
Red chilli or Kashmiri red chilli powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder – half teaspoon
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Garam masala powder – half teaspoon
Cumin powder – half teaspoon
Asafoetida – 1 pinch
Cumin – 1/4 teaspoon
Curd – 1/4 cup
Salt – as per taste
Cashew paste – two spoons
Green coriander for garnish
Recipe
—First of all, peel the bottle gourd and grate it. Squeeze out all the water from the grated bottle gourd and separate it.
-Keep this water separate. Use it for gravy.
-Take grated bottle gourd in a mixing bowl, add gram flour, cumin, red chilli and salt and mix.
-If necessary, add some water to it so that the gourd and gram flour bind well.
-Now heat oil in a pan. Make small balls of bottle gourd and gram flour and when the oil gets hot, drop them in it and fry.
-Fry it on medium flame until it turns light brown. After this, take it out in a plate and keep it aside.
-To prepare the gravy of kofta, heat oil in a pan and add some cumin seeds, asafoetida, green chillies, cinnamon stick, crushed cloves, cardamom and bay leaves and fry them.
-When the spices are roasted, add finely chopped onion and ginger-garlic paste and fry till it becomes light golden.
—Now add tomato paste and salt and let it cook for 3 to 4 minutes.
-When oil starts separating from the gravy, add turmeric, red chilli powder, coriander and cumin powder and fry.
-After roasting for some time, add curd to it and let it cook on low flame for 2 minutes.
-When the curd mixes well with the spices, add bottle gourd water to it. Cashew paste can also be added to it.
—Cover it and cook for 5 to 10 minutes. When the gravy is cooked, add the koftas to it and let it cook for 2 minutes.
-Now add garam masala in it and after it comes to a boil, turn off the gas.
-Koftas are ready. It can be served by adding green coriander.
