There is discussion on whether MPs should be repeated or not.

Although no names have been finalized yet, sources said that some sitting members of Parliament will not be re-elected and new names will emerge in their place. And according to a report by Hindi daily NBT, among the new names is actor Akshay Kumar. Although no official statement has come yet, but reports say that Akshay Kumar may be asked to contest from Chandni Chowk seat of Delhi. BJP leader and former Union Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan won the seat twice in 2014 and 2019. The seat was won by former Congress leader and Union minister Kapil Sibal in 2004 and 2009.

A recent report in The Indian Express quoted a source as saying, “The AAP-Congress alliance will definitely impact the party’s approach to candidate selection in Delhi as the contest is now bipolar and not triangular like in 2019. ” It is worth mentioning here that Chandni Chowk to China actor Akshay Kumar spent a major part of his childhood in Delhi before moving to Mumbai. In a recent interview, he admitted that he lived in a small house in Chandni Chowk with 24 members of his family.

As per the agreement, Congress will field its candidates in North East, Chandni Chowk and North West and Aam Aadmi Party will field its candidates in New Delhi, East Delhi, West Delhi and South Delhi seats.
