Case of sexual harassment filed against three people including Taarak Mehta producer Asit Kumar Modi

Mumbai Mumbai Police has registered a case against three people of popular TV show ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ for alleged sexual harassment. An official gave this information here on Tuesday. An FIR has been registered against the show’s producer Asit Kumar Modi, operations head Sohail Ramani and executive producer Jatin Bajaj, an official from Powai police station told IANS. Sections 354A, 509 etc. of IPC have been used in the case.

The official said that the step was taken following a complaint lodged by one of the actresses of the show and no arrests have been made in the matter so far.

About a week ago, the actress had recorded her statement with the police accusing Asit Kumar Modi and others of sexual harassment, following which the investigation began.

However, the accused Modi, Bajaj and Ramani have categorically denied the allegations in their statements released last week.

She refuted the actress’s allegations claiming that she was making these allegations out of revenge as her work contract was terminated by the production house.

Police has said that investigation is being done from all angles before starting further action in the case.
