Censor Board bans OMG 2, sends film to review committee

After giving the Censor Board certificate to Adipurush, questions were being raised on the functioning of the Censor Board. In view of this, the censor board has now banned the certification of Akshay Kumar’s film OMG 2. Along with this, the film has been sent to the review committee. After the decision of the Review Committee, the Censor Board will decide the fate of the film. However, it would not be right to use the word ban for the film right now. This decision has been taken in view of what happened to Adipurush. The teaser of the film was released on 11 July. In the teaser, Akshay Kumar is seen in the form of Lord Shiva with long hair and ashes on his forehead. Pankaj Tripathi will also be seen in the lead role in the film. The film was to be released in theaters on August 11, 2023. Its first part OMG was released in 2012. Paresh Rawal was in the lead role in that film.

The teaser begins with Pankaj Tripathi’s voice over. He says that whether God exists or not, a person can give proof of this by being a theist or an atheist. But God never differentiates between the slaves he has created. Be it the atheist Kanji Lal Mehta or the theist Kanti Sharan Mudgal. After this, there is the entry of Shiva as Akshay, in which he says, keep faith, you are Shiva’s slave. Arun Govil will be seen in the role of Lord Ram in ‘OMG 2’. It was Arun who played the role of Lord Rama in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana. The special thing is that ‘OMG 2’ was to clash with Sunny Deol’s film ‘Gadar 2’ on August 11.

Regarding this decision of the Censor Board, the winds blowing in the cine corridors have started saying that now on August 11, there will be no clash at the box office. The first three films were going to clash on this day. These films were Animal (Ranbir Kapoor), Gadar 2 (Sunny Deol) and OMG 2 (Akshay Kumar). Animal was postponed to December last month itself. Now the competition was between Gadar-2 and ‘OMG 2’ but due to the decision of the Censor Board, this clash has also been postponed. It is expected that the Review Committee of the Censor Board will not be able to take any decision regarding the film so soon.
