Censorship For OTT | After Salman Khan, now this big actor demands OTT to curb obscenity and abuse

During the event of Filmfare, Salman Khan spoke openly on some issues for the first time. He expressed his opinion on many issues like flop of Bollywood films, rule of some stars on cinema, not giving chance to young stars and controversial content of OTT platform. Salman Khan strongly criticized the obscenity and profanity on OTT. He said that such things indirectly have a very bad effect on the society. Salman Khan also talked about the limitations of OTT. Salman Khan is now supported by Nassar Abdullah. The veteran actor shared that he is ready to ‘win’ in this fight with Salman Khan and demanded OTT censorship. The actor said that people cannot take away the freedom to go beyond the limits of content in the digital space.

Salman Khan’s recent comment on OTT censorship has sparked debate all around. The Bhaijaan of Bollywood, who recently attended an event in Mumbai, spoke about the obscenity of nudity shown on OTT platforms. Furthermore, he demanded that there should be a body to censor such content on digital platforms. Nassar Abdullah who has been a part of various films like Company, Fired, Men Not Allowed and more took the superstar’s side.

Nassar Abdullah said “Whatever Salman Khan is saying, somewhere I can agree with him. Being a senior person who has seen things happen in the film industry in the last 40 years, I want to win with him. Yes, there must be censorship somewhere because it is OTT. That doesn’t mean you have the freedom to fuck completely off limits, as well as some cheesy stuff that is unnecessary and vulgar. For OTT, there should be a censorship that can watch and sometimes when things get out of hand, it can be reined in.

Further, sharing his perspective, the actor was asked whether censorship would hinder the creativity of filmmakers. The senior actor remarked that ‘half Indian films are rubbish’ and added, “Sometimes, in the name of creativity, they can be very cheap. 60 per cent or 20 per cent of the films made in India are rubbish. Many of them are bad, they flop.If you have created content that has a fair amount of objectionable content, unnecessary or obscene content, then it needs to be regulated.

During a recent press conference in Mumbai, the actor expressed his displeasure towards vulgarity on OTT platforms and requested filmmakers to avoid ‘Galu Galouch’ on stage. On the professional front, Salman Khan will be next seen in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, which is slated to hit the theaters on April 21.
