Chennaiyin FC on Tuesday strengthened their defense by signing Serbia’s Lazar Cirkovic ahead of the 2023-24 Indian Super League (ISL) season.
Chennaiyin FC has signed Serbia defender Lazar Cirkovic to strengthen its defense ahead of the upcoming season of the Indian Super League (ISL) football competition. Lazar Cirkovic is the fifth foreign player to join the club for the upcoming ISL season.
Chennaiyin FC head coach Owen Coyle hoped that Cirkovic’s addition to the team would strengthen their defence. He said in the club’s release here, “We are very happy to add Sarkovich to the club. We have been trying to sign him for some time now. The club had shown a lot of interest in him because he has been playing at the top level. His presence will strengthen the team. It means a lot for him to join the club.
Serkovich was earlier playing for Hungarian club Budapest Honvéd FC. He has played most of the matches in his career in Serbia’s ‘First Division’. He has played 146 matches for different clubs in this league.
