Iran, American wrestlers won gold medals in World Championship-2023

belgrade. David Morris Taylor of the United States and Amir Hossein Abbas Zare of Iran won the 86kg and 125kg Olympic freestyle categories respectively at the 2023 Wrestling Championships in Belgrade, Serbia.
World champion David Morris Taylor regained his 86kg freestyle title by defeating former Olympic and world champion Hassan Alizam Yazdanichrati of Iran 9-3 on Sunday.
In the 125kg freestyle, another Olympic wrestling category, world No. 2 Genno Petriashvili of Georgia lost 11-0 to Zhere, Xinhua reported.
In non-Olympic categories, US champion Vitaliy Araujo defeated former world champion Abasgadzhi Magomedov of Russia 10–9 in the 61 kg freestyle final.
In the 70 kg freestyle final, world No. 2 wrestler Zane Allen Rutherford of the United States defeated Amir Mohammad Babak Yazdanicherati of Iran 8–5 to clinch the title.
The 2023 Wrestling Championships will run from 16 to 24 September in Belgrade.
