Every year, people show their creativity in decorations etc. for the ten-day Ganpati festival, but this time Santa Cruz resident Rintu Rathod has made a beautiful two-foot idol of Lord Ganesha from chocolate, nine types of coarse grains and other materials.
This idol of “Bappa” is in Vrischikasana posture. Designer Rathore said, “This currency is mentioned in our Puranas. I have recently completed a course in naturopathy, so I have combined these two ideas and created the sculpture in this posture.”
This two feet statue of ‘Bappa’ is in Vrischikasana posture. It took 20 hours to make this idol weighing 40 kg. It has been kept in an AC room to prevent it from melting. Rathore has been making chocolate sculptures for the last 12 years.
Meanwhile, a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation official said at least 1,034 idols were immersed in beaches and artificial ponds in Mumbai on Saturday, the fifth day of Ganpati festival.
Mumbai Police has made elaborate arrangements and police personnel have been deployed at every immersion site in the metropolis. Traffic police has also been deployed to ensure smooth flow of vehicles during the immersion procession.
