Tata semiconductor plants will supply chips to all sectors, 72,000 jobs will be created.
Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran had recently said that Tata Electronics’ semiconductor plants will gradually supply chips to serve all sectors in a phased manner and create about 72,000 jobs in the coming years. Chandrasekaran had said at the foundation stone laying ceremony of Tata Electronics’ proposed Rs 91,000 crore chip manufacturing plant in Dholera, Gujarat and Rs 27,000 crore chip assembly unit in Assam that these projects will be expanded in the future but the initial milestones have been crossed. This will happen only after doing. Tata’s chip plant is capable of producing chips in 28 nanometer (nm) to 110 nanometer nodes. High-technology devices like smartphones and tablets mainly require chips with smaller nodes like 3nm, 7nm and 14nm.
A large number of jobs will be created by setting up a semiconductor plant.
Chandrasekaran had said that a large number of jobs would be created with the establishment of these plants. He had said that we are looking for 50,000 jobs here and 20,000-22,000 jobs in the plant in Assam. But it will take time. We will expand as we overcome initial milestones.
