Rohan Bopanna ended his Davis Cup career on a high note with a comfortable straight-set win over Yuki Bhambri in the men’s doubles here on Sunday, giving India a 2-1 lead in their World Group 2 clash against Morocco. The 43-year-old Bopanna and Bhambri, playing their 33rd and final match in the Davis Cup, defeated Morocco’s Elliot Benchetrit and Younes Lalami Laroussi 6-2, 6-1 in a match that lasted one hour and 11 minutes. Now if Sumit Nagal defeats Yasin Dalimi then India will win this match.

After this the Indian pair again targeted Younis and broke his service easily. India won the first set in 34 minutes. Bopanna also showed excellent service in the second set but in the third game, Morocco got a break point on Bhambri’s serve. However, the Indian team was successful in saving it. Younis made the score 40-0 on his serve in the fourth game but after that he lost control over his serve. Apart from the double fault, he also made unnecessary mistakes and lost his serve. India won this set and the match on Bhambri’s serve.
