Revealing the Indian team, Rajpal said that apart from veteran Rohan Bopanna, Sumit Nagal, Yuki Bhambri, Shashikumar Mukund and Digvijay Pratap Singh have been included in it. In view of the extremely humid heat in Lucknow, Rajpal also announced that the timing of the match has been changed for the convenience of the players and fans. “Due to the humid weather, the matches have been rescheduled to 12 noon to 2 pm on Saturday and 11 am to 1 pm on Sunday,” he said.
Indian Olympic Association (IOA) executive committee member Rajpal further said, “After discussion with the referee on the request made by Morocco, we decided to change the timing of the match. He said, “This is Rohan Bopanna’s last Davis Cup tie, so it will be a great opportunity to see him play. “This is a great opportunity for juniors and players who want to get into the game to become a ball boy or volunteer.” Meanwhile, Moroccan coach Mehdi Tahiri also announced his team. The team includes Elliot Benchetrit, Yassin Delimi, Adam Moundir, Walid Ahouda and Younes Lalami Laroussi. “In Davis Cup you don’t look at rankings,” Mehdi said. On paper, India has a strong case and has better ranked players. But the matches will be played on the court and we will have to fight. We are ready to do our best.
