BCCI joint secretary Devjit Saikia said that hosting the World Cup trophy is a proud moment for Guwahati. He said that the World Cup trophy has already traveled to 18 countries. “No trophy has ever traveled this far. We are extremely honored and excited to receive the trophy in Guwahati. Talking about the World Cup practice matches to be played in Guwahati, Saikia said that the main venues and training facilities are already ready for use. Guwahati will host four matches, which will include India, England, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. The teams will start training on September 28 at the ACA Stadium, Annexe Ground of Barsapara and Amingaon Cricket Ground. On September 29, Sri Lanka will face Bangladesh at the ACA Stadium, Barsapara.

Ticket price is low

Talking about the ticket price, the ticket price for students has been kept at Rs 200. Apart from this, an amount of Rs 300, Rs 500, Rs 700 and Rs 1000 has been fixed for the remaining people.

India will host fully for the first time

The 13th edition of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup is being started from October 5. The final match of the World Cup will be played on 19 November at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This tournament was to be played between February and March, but it had to be postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Altogether 10 countries will compete among themselves for the trophy. This will be the first time that India will host the tournament in its entirety, although it has previously co-hosted the 1987, 1996 and 2011 editions with other countries in the Indian subcontinent. The two semi-final matches will be played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai and Eden Garden in Kolkata.
