Deepfake video maker arrested, Rashmika Mandanna thanks Delhi Police

Hyderabad. Actress Rashmika Mandanna has thanked Delhi Police for the arrest of the person who made her deepfake video. The police had arrested a B-Tech graduate from Andhra Pradesh in connection with the deepfake video of the actress. This video of Mandana was widely circulated on social media. The accused was identified as Imani Naveen, 23, from Guntur in Andhra Pradesh, who had superimposed Mandanna’s face on the video of British-Indian social media influencer Zara Patel using artificial intelligence (AI).

Rashmika wrote this post on Instagram on Saturday, tagging the cyber crime unit of Delhi Police. The 27-year-old actress wrote, Heartfelt gratitude to DCP IFSO (Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations). Thanks for catching the accused. I feel really grateful to everyone for showing their love, support and protecting me.

Mandana said in her post, Girls and boys, if your photo is used or tampered with anywhere without your consent then it is absolutely wrong. I hope it serves as a reminder that you are surrounded by people who will support you and take action. According to an officer, the accused had made this video to increase the number of his followers on Instagram.
