Difference with Dharma Productions, now Brahmastra will be made with Jio Studios

Brahmastra Part One Shiva, directed by Ayan Mukerji, was successful in doing excellent business at the box office after its release. Sometime back its director Ayan Mukherjee had announced that Brahmastra-2 would be released in December 2026 and Brahmastra-3 in December 2027. It is now reported that Dharma Productions and Disney have backed out of Brahmastra. In such a situation, Ayan Mukherjee can now join hands with Jio Studios.

As per reports, Disney is working on restructuring its content strategy in India. He has slowed down work for Disney Plus Hotstar and is also doing film production less and less. After several meetings over the past few months, Disney has now decided to back out of the Brahmastra franchise. The studio was set to sell the rights of the Brahmastra franchise to Ayan, who is already a partial owner of it. Ayan has a roadmap ready for his future films and is on the verge of signing a huge multi-crore deal with Jio Studios for this one with Ranbir Kapoor.

Significantly, since the release of Brahmastra, the winds blowing in the cine corridors started saying that Karan Johar is no longer interested in working with Ayan Mukerji. The reason being told was that Ayan Mukherjee takes too much time to make his film, which Karan did not find right. These winds had also said that Yash Raj Films is keen to associate Ayan with them. Recently, this thing proved to be true when Yash Raj announced the next film of his Spy Universe, War-2 with the name of Ayan Mukherjee.

Now it remains to be seen whether Jio completes the next two installments of Brahmastra by associating Ayan Mukherjee with him or else Ayan Mukherjee joins hands with Yash Raj Films for this project as well. Only time will tell all this.
