The Bombay High Court has allowed a disabled man accused of posing as a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officer and duping several people, including film producer Rakesh Roshan, to appear before him through video conferencing.

Justice M.S. Karnik’s single bench, in its order on Monday, said that the accused Ashwini Kumar, who is currently on bail in the case, is disabled up to 80 per cent and hence, he is not in a position to travel to Mumbai from Haryana where he is currently residing. Is.
Kumar had filed a petition in this regard which was accepted by the High Court. The court allowed him to appear before the special court through video conference during the pronouncement of the verdict.
The court said the CBI officer can accompany Kumar to the Panipat district court. Kumar and a man named Rajesh Rajan were arrested in 2011 for defrauding more than 200 people, including film personalities and businessmen like Rakesh Roshan. According to the agency, the accused have been duping people by posing as CBI officers since 2006.
