Cairo: India’s Divyansh Singh Panwar won the gold medal in the men’s 10m air rifle shooting event at the ISSF World Cup 2024. In the meet played on Sunday, Tokyo Olympian Divyansh Singh Panwar topped the qualification round with a score of 632.4 and qualified for the medal round along with compatriot Arjun Babauta, who finished fourth in the qualifying round with a score of 630.7. Sandeep Singh finished seventh with a score of 630.4, Rudraksh Balasaheb Patil finished 11th with a score of 629.3.
In the final, Divyansh Singh Panwar once again came out on top with a score of 253.7, a world record score. Italy’s Danilo Dennis Solazzo won the silver medal with 251.8, while Serbian shooter Lazar Kovacevic took the bronze with 230.6. Arjun Babauta finished sixth with a score of 166.1. In another encounter, Sonam Uttam Muskar, competing in her first ISSF World Cup, won a silver medal in the women’s 10m air rifle event at the Egypt International Olympic City Shooting Range.
Sonam scored 252.1 in the final and was 0.9 behind Germany’s Anna Janssen. Poland’s Anneta Stankiewicz (230.4) won the bronze medal, leaving behind India’s Nancy (209.5). Sonam and Nancy had made it to the final with scores of 632.7 and 633.1 respectively and finished the 60-shot qualification round in fifth and fourth place respectively. India’s Tilottama Sen was 29th in qualification with a score of 627.6, while Ramita, playing for RPO, finished 10th with a score of 632.0. With two gold and three silver, India is on top of the medal table of the first ISSF World Cup.
