New Delhi | India’s trap mixed team pair of Prithviraj Tondaiman and Shreyasi Singh shot well but still missed out on a medal. With this, the second ISSF World Cup Shotgun stage of the year concluded in Doha, Qatar. Prithviraj and Shreyasi shot a combined 142 out of 150 in qualification, one point less than the bronze-medal-match qualifying score of 143 achieved by Turkey and Poland. Only Prithviraj Tondaiman finished sixth with the men’s trap bronze, as the United States topped the list with three golds.

Prithviraj and Shreyasi were to be among the top four in the 24-team trap mixed team field. They stayed in the match for 100-targets but a 23-23 round in the final 50-target set put them behind. Team USA of William Hinton and Alicia Kathleen Gough defeated Kuwait’s Talal Alrashidi and Sarah Alhawal 6-0 in the gold medal match. Poland won bronze.

The ISSF World Cup bandwagon will move forward in India, where the ISSF World Cup Rifle/Pistol is scheduled from March 20 in Bhopal.(IANS)
