If reports are to be believed, ED has sent summons to comedian Kapil Sharma, actress Huma Qureshi and Hina Khan in the money laundering case related to ‘Mahadev Betting App’ and asked them to appear for questioning on different dates. Officials said that recently summons have been sent to the three artists and they have been asked to appear at the Raipur office of the investigating agency on different dates. The agency will record their statement under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) and try to understand what was the mode of payment and receipt of money allegedly made by the app’s promoters.
It is believed that these artists will not be made accused in the case. It is understood that these artistes promoted the Mahadev app and some had entertained guests at a foreign wedding of one of the app’s promoters.
