Emma Watson to collaborate with husband Dave McCary on project for Universal Pictures

Emma Stone, known for her films including Poor Things, La La Land, will star in a yet-to-be-titled film for Universal Pictures. According to a report, entertainment outlet Variety mentioned that the actress will also be collaborating with her husband Dave Macri for this special project. If finalized, Dave McCary will direct the film from a screenplay written by Patrick Kang and Michael Levin. Details of the plot have been kept secret. Shawn Levy, Dan Cohen and Dan Levin will produce the film through 21 Laps. Michael H. Weber will also produce.
Emma Stone and Dave McCary, who tied the knot in 2020 and are parents to a daughter, are in talks to produce Through the Heart of Ali Hurting Fruit Tree. Stone recently won her second Academy Award for Best Actress for Yorgos Lanthimos’ “Poor Things.” He had previously won the trophy for the 2016 film “La La Land”.
Emma Stone played Bella Baxter in Poor Things. The film tells the story of an unconventional scientist, a young woman who runs away with a lawyer on a whirlwind adventure across continents. Freed from the prejudices of her time, she becomes steadfast in her purpose to stand for equality and liberation.
Emma Stone also has two more projects in her kitty which include Kinds of Kindness and Eddington. In Kinds of Kindness, the film will also star Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe, Margaret Qualley, Hong Chau, Joe Alwyn, and Hunter Schafer. While at Eddington, the film will star Joaquin Phoenix, Pedro Pascal, Austin Butler, Luke Grins, Deirdre O’Connell, Michael Ward, and Clifton Collins Jr., among others.
