After giving a brilliant performance as a villain in Tiger 3, Imran will now be seen in the web series Showtime. The series featuring Naseeruddin Shah along with Hashmi will give some insight into the entertainment industry. Showtime also stars Shriya Saran, Mahima Makwana and Mouni Roy. During the promotion of the show, Imran got engaged in a serious discussion with the press. He even expressed his views on Kangana Ranaut’s claims on nepotism in Bollywood.

For those who don’t know, let us tell you that Imran has worked with Kangana in Gangster, which marked his acting debut. This film was successful at the box office. From here Kangana started climbing the stairs of success. Despite being an outsider, Ranaut made her place in the film industry. However, in the last few years, Kangana has said a lot about nepotism in the industry and has also claimed that almost every actor takes drugs. Now Emraan Hashmi has responded to these claims.

Imran said that Kangana is very good as an artist. It may be that his experience in the initial days was that the industry did not welcome him so much, but here everyone is not the same. My experience with Kangana was such that at that time I had given a hit film, but still I played the villain in Gangster and she was at the centre. It was almost a woman-centric film. So I don’t know when such a belief was formed. People started saying that everyone is a drug addict or the industry works only on nepotism. Although Kangana may have her own opinion, it is wrong to blame the entire industry. Not everyone is a drug addict in the industry.

Imran and Kangana have worked together in three films. The first was Gangster (2006), the second was 2009’s Raaz 2. They last worked together in Karan Johar’s film Ungli (2014).
