England Cricket Board’s heart touching move to encourage Indian blind cricket teams

London: Reflecting the spirit of sportsmanship, the England Cricket Board (ECB) has come forward to support the Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) in managing its logistical challenges by subsidizing accommodation costs ahead of the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) World Games 2023 in Birmingham. has come. The Indian men’s and women’s blind cricket teams arrived at the World Games Village at the University of Birmingham on Thursday for the IBSA World Games, which begin on Friday. Blind cricket has been included in the World Games for the first time and the Indian blind cricket teams (both men and women) are gearing up for a historic debut at this mega event. Officials said, ‘The rest of the blind cricket teams that are participating in the tournament are supported by their mainstream cricket boards. Hope BCCI follows them someday.’With only two days left for their first match at the IBSA World Games in Birmingham, the Indian blind cricket teams are all set to showcase their talents on the field.

The Indian women’s blind cricket team arrived in Birmingham for the tournament on Thursday, three days after the arrival of the men’s team. “It is a great moment for our girls to participate alongside our boys in a global sporting event in general and cricket in particular,” CABI President Mahantesh G Kivadsannavar said in a statement. This prestigious event will definitely change their perspective and connect them with the happenings at the world level. The Indian women’s team will begin their campaign against Australia on August 20 while the men’s team will take on Pakistan on the same day.
