Hales scored 2419 runs at an average of 37.79 in his International ODI career. He was not a part of the 2019 World Cup winning team. He is one of the three players to score more than 2000 T20I runs for England. His one century was against the Sri Lankan team which included Ajantha Mendis and Lasith Malinga.

Hales has played an important role in taking England’s short-form lax team forward. In 2016, he scored 171 against Pakistan at his home ground, Trent Bridge, breaking Robin Smith’s long-standing record for the highest ODI innings by an Englishman. England broke this record two years later at the same venue, when Hales made 147 out of 481 for 6 against Australia.

Did T20 debut in 2011

Hales made his international debut in August 2011 against India in a T20 International at Manchester. He represented England in 11 Tests, 70 ODIs and 75 T20Is. The aggressive batsman scored 2074 runs in 75 T20 Internationals at an average of 30.95. In this format, he scored one century and 12 half-centuries. He could score only 573 runs (with an average of 27.28) in 11 Tests with the help of five half-centuries.
