‘English Vinglish’ to re-release in China on Sridevi’s fifth death anniversary, details inside

This year February 24 is the 5th death anniversary of late actress Sridevi. The famous female superstar of Indian cinema breathed her last on February 24, 2018 in Dubai. His family, millions of fans and the entire film industry were deeply shocked by his demise. Now on his death anniversary, the film English Vinglish will once again be released in theaters in China. Distributor Eros International told that ‘English Vinglish’ will be released on 6,000 screens in China.

The company’s Chief Executive Officer (COO) Kumar Ahuja said in a statement: “I am very excited to present one of the most memorable films of the late Bollywood actress Sridevi, ‘English Vinglish’ to the Chinese audience.” Sridevi returned to the silver screen after a long time through the Hindi family comedy-drama directed by Gauri Shinde. The film was India’s official nominee for the 2012 Academy Awards in the Best Foreign Language Film category. Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared this news on Twitter. He posted that the film will release in theaters on February 24, which is Sridevi’s fifth death anniversary.

In the film, Sridevi plays the character of Shashi Godbole, a quiet, sweet-natured housewife. She used to bear petty taunts every day from her educated husband and daughter because of her inability to speak and understand English.
