The Delhi High Court has termed OTT platform TVF’s web series ‘College Romance’ as obscene and indecent and ordered registration of an FIR. Hearing the matter, Justice Swarnakant Sharma of the Delhi High Court said that he himself had to watch the episode with earphones on, as the kind of language used in it, if heard in public, would shock people.
The youth of the country do not practice such language
Let us tell you that in this case, Justice Swarna Kanta Sharma said that he watched the episodes of this series by putting headphones in his chamber. No one uses such language in public nor talks like this in the family. He said that the court has observed that the language used in this series is certainly not used in conversation by the youth and citizens of the country. Justice Sharma wrote in his order that the court has come to the conclusion that the series director Simran Preet Singh and actor Apoorva Arora can be prosecuted under Section-67 and Section-67A.

The Delhi High Court upheld the order of the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate directing the Delhi Police to register an FIR against the three accused.
What would happen if school children started speaking such a language?
The High Court said in its order that today this language is being called the language of college going students, it will affect school children as well and it will become normal in the coming days. The new generation learns from the old generation, so if school students also start speaking such foul language then it will be a very bad thing for the society.
