Aaliya Siddiqui, wife of actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, has been in headlines for some time now for her personal life, but recently, as a producer, Alia’s film Holly Cow has knocked on Amazon Prime Video. Alia says that many people liked this film very much, but when it came to OTT release, many people backed out due to the sensitive issue being made. I would say thank you to Amazon. Which he chose my film. Excerpts from a conversation with Urmila Kori on her film, Private Life…

How did you get involved with the making of Holy Cow?

I came to act in 2004, but somewhere in between my mind drifted towards direction, so I used to make small films. After a time got married, had children. All the time went by in that. Director Sai Kabir told me the story of this film that a Muslim’s cow gets lost. I found this subject very appealing, due to which I got involved in the film.

What challenges did the decision to become a producer throw you?

There was always trouble in my marriage, but I did not stop in my work, because my career is very important to me. Drop by drop the ocean is made. There was a lot of money problem. I put my savings in it. Add partners from outside as well and complete the film. Usually small films do not get theatres, but the theme and casting of my film was good, due to which not only this film got theatres, but critics and people also appreciated this film, so somewhere all the hard work Brought color

How much support was there for Nawaz?

Nawaz has never had any support in anything. They always see flaws in me that you are not doing well, it is wrong. Nawaz did not have support. That’s why I put all my savings in this film and became dependent on every single penny. The only support was that he did a guest role in my film. For that I will say thank you to him. There was no more support than this. I would like to tell that I did not ask him for that also. He told in front that I would like to do a guest role in the film, because the subject of the film is good.

Have things changed after the court’s decision?

The problem is still there. We have a case in court. Right now the court is deciding. We are going in the same way. There is a lot of support from the court. Now the court has sent us to Dubai for the study of the children. The court has asked Nawaz to manage whatever financial problems he has. If there is a court order, he will have to do it. So far all is well, the children are also fine.

What are your expectations from your personal and professional life now?

I want a peaceful life. I want to take divorce from them. His name, which is associated with my name, has to be removed. I don’t want Nawazuddin’s name with my name at all. It was like a mental torture for me. I am just waiting for the divorce. As far as it is professional, then slowly I want to stand on my own feet. I want to make small and big films.

Are you going to rent a house in Mumbai now or stay with Nawaz and his family?

For now I will stay in Dubai only. Nawaz and I are joint owners of a flat. We will get that after two years, so I will stay there again.

Do you feel that controversies in your personal life can bring problems in professional life as well?

There is no such small thinking of the industry. I am going to make a biopic film on famous folk singer Teejan Bai. In connection with this, I met a big actress and a director. Whatever controversy happened regarding my marriage, after that. I think people in the industry are very professional, they need a good script and character and nothing else matters.

Is there also a fear that Nawaz might affect your professional life?

How much more trouble can they bring. Already they have made my life difficult, but now I am not going to stop, no matter what happens.

You entered the industry to become an actress, are you still ready to act?

Yes, why not, if I get something good, I will definitely do it.
