Mumbai (Best Hindu News) : Famous late actor Guru Dutt’s sister and painter Lalita Lajmi is no more in this world. He died on 13 February at the age of 90. Lalita Lajmi had worked in Aamir Khan starrer ‘Taare Zameen Par’. Jehangir Nicholson Art Foundation shared the news of Lalita Lajmi’s demise on social media. Sharing an old picture of Lalita and her creation, she wrote in the caption, “We are deeply saddened by the news of the demise of artist Lalita Lajmi.” Lajmi was a self-taught artist with a keen interest in classical dance.

Lalita’s earlier works drew inspiration from her personal life and observations, while her later works depicted the hidden tension between man and woman. His works were also influenced by films made by his brother Guru Dutt, Satyajit Ray and Raj Kapoor. Lalita Lajmi was born in 1932 in Kolkata, West Bengal. Lalita’s father was a poet and mother also used to write in many languages. Along with this, Lalita was also deeply interested in classical music. Lalita had organized art exhibitions in many countries including India, Paris, London and Netherlands. On the death of Lalita Lajmi, veteran actors of Bollywood have paid tribute to her.
