Chennai: Tamil megastar Rajinikanth’s latest film Jailer is emerging as a blockbuster. Fans are happy with his performance as well as young director Nelson Dilip Kumar. Produced by Kalanithi Maran under the banner of Sun Films, the film is being screened across 900 cinema halls across Tamil Nadu.
A software engineer from Kerala based in Chennai, R. Pradeep Kumar said, ‘Rajinikanth is wonderful and so is Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, who plays a cameo in the film. The pre-reviews of the film have taken place and fans are also observing a silent fast in parts of Tamil Nadu including Madurai and Tiruchi for the success of the film. Prabhu Pandian, an active member of the Madurai-based Rajini Fan Club and businessman, said, “I have been a fan of the superstar since I was in school and have seen all his films from Padayappa to Jailer which is different in which Rajini, Jackie Shroff, Tamannaah and Mohanlal have done very well.
‘All credit goes to Nelson Dilip Kumar for the wonderful direction.’ The film has collected Rs 13 crore in pre-booking figures till yesterday and if the early reactions are to be believed, the film is shaping up to be a big blockbuster. After watching the film with her husband and son at PVR Cinemas in Chennai’s Anna Nagar, housewife Manonmani told IANS: “Rajni is different.
The film has given me so much positive energy that it will stay with me for days. He is such a great actor who can uplift the society, and we Tamilians are proud to have such an actor among us.’ Fans welcomed the film Jailer by showering roses and jasmine flowers on the screens in most of the cinema halls in Tamil Nadu including Chennai, Theni, Madurai, Coimbatore, Tiruchi, Salem, Erode and all other major places in the state.
