Farah appeals to Ranjit Dahiya to paint ‘Om Shanti Om’

Mumbai (Best Hindu News): This weekend Sony Entertainment Television’s desi dance reality show ‘India’s Best Dancer 3’ is celebrating ‘110 Years of Cinema, Bemisaal’. Paying tribute to the incredible journey of Indian cinema, the contestants, along with their choreographers, will feature trailblazers such as Raj Kapoor, Kishore Kumar, Shammi Kapoor, and Amitabh Bachchan, as well as Bollywood icons such as Dharmendra and Hema Malini, Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh, among others. Will dance in the footsteps of iconic couples.

Acclaimed filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan will add an extra dose of entertainment to the event.

Honoring those behind the scenes who have contributed as much to the success of Indian cinema as the stars, the show features Manoj Desai, executive director of Mumbai’s G7 Multiplex and Maratha Mandir Cinema, Ranjit Dahiya, founder of the Bollywood Art Project, and the Indian film industry The first stuntwoman Reshma Pathan will be seen.

Bollywood Art Project’s Ranjit Dahiya has been beautifying the streets of Mumbai with giant portraits of film stars generation after generation, and on ‘India’s Best Dancer’ he talks about his love for Bollywood.

He says, “My journey was not easy, I had to struggle a lot. When I started the project, I didn’t have enough money, but I had a dream to do something in Mumbai, so that people come to this city to watch Bollywood.

Dahiya added: Bombay is known as the ‘City of Cinema’, but there was no representation of Bollywood, so I wanted to change that and create something. I have been making Bollywood paintings since last 11 years, with more than 40 graffiti done across India till date.

Appreciating Dahiya’s passion, Sonali Bendre, a Bollywood star and one of the three judges, says: Earlier, movie posters used to be painted, but with time the trend of painting faded and digital posters came into the picture. But today you reminded us of those days. You are very talented artist and your work is really amazing.

Farah Khan further says, whenever I pass by Sea Link and see your painting, I always wish that one day you make a painting of one of my films, maybe ‘Om Shanti Om’.

To make the evening memorable for the special guests, Terence Lewis, the contestants and Dahiya will dance to the iconic song ‘Khaike Paan Banaras Wala’.
