Fighter overtakes Animal on Netflix! People are liking the action of Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone.

Fighter did not live up to the hype in theatres. But the film has done really well on Netflix. The Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone starrer did not impress Indian audiences in theatres, who said it was a copycat of Top Gun: Maverick and other films. Fighter was also panned by critics. However, all the viewers of Netflix have liked the film. This week it is ahead of Ranbir Kapoor and Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal. The 2023 blockbuster also took the OTT platform by storm.
Fighter beats Animal on Netflix
The Fighter received 1.6 million global views in its third week on Netflix. It dropped by minus 75.4 percent and received a total of 14 million global views. With this, it has left behind Animal which generated 13.6 million global views on Netflix. They are much higher than many Indian blockbusters such as Dunki (10.4 million completed views in three weeks) and Salaar (3.5 million views in two weeks).
It has also overtaken the original Top Gun Maverick, which made its debut on Netflix a week before The Fighter.
Indian films ruling Netflix more than Fighter and Animal
First place goes to RRR. The film starring SS Rajamouli, Ram Charan and Jr NTR received 23.7 million views globally, while Chor Nikal Ke Bhaag received 18.1 million views. One of the best Indian thrillers, Sujoy Ghosh’s Jaane Jaan starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma earned 14 million views on the OTT platform. Both Animal and Gangubai Kathiawadi have received more than 13 million views.
The truly international projects were Gangubai Kathiawadi and RRR. The former was a huge hit in Southeast Asia, while the latter is the most successful Indian film on any global OTT platform. In the last few days, Deepika Padukone’s fans had expressed their displeasure and said that the character of Minal Chauhan has not been portrayed well in the film.
