Former JSCA officials did not get bail, AGM will be held today

Chief Correspondent, Jamshedpur: The District Sessions and Principal Judge Court on Friday denied bail to former Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) president Amitabh Chaudhary (now deceased), former secretary Rajesh Verma alias Bobby, former treasurer Govinda Mukherjee, life member Ranjit Kumar and others. While executing the anticipatory bail petition, the decision to go to the lower court (CJM) was given.
Former JSCA officials did not get relief
Advocate Ranjandhari Singh, on behalf of the complainant cum Ranji player Ujjwal Das, told that the accused did not get relief from the district session and the Chief Justice’s court. Now everyone has been asked to appear in the CJM court for anticipatory bail within two weeks. On the other hand, on behalf of the defense, advocate Tapas Mitra, citing an order of the Supreme Court, said that in such a case, the district judge sends the court to the lower court for bail. Bail petition has to be filed in 15 days. The anticipatory bail of the accused has not been rejected.
What is the matter?
It may be known that former JSCA president Amitabh Chaudhary, former secretary Rajesh Verma, former treasurer Govinda Mukherjee and life member Ranjit Kumar Singh are accused of embezzlement of Rs 193.26 crore. Ranji player Ujjwal Das, Sheshnath Pathak had filed a case against embezzlement in Bishtupur police station five years ago in 2018.
JSCA’s AGM today
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) will be held on Saturday from 12 noon in the banquet hall of Hotel Venus International, Garhwa. Minutes of the previous AGM will be approved after discussion in the AGM. Some new members will also be made in the AGM.
