Danish Kaneria has reacted to the implementation of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019 by the Modi government. He has thanked PM Modi.
Under this law, it will be easy for people from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh to get Indian citizenship.
Praising this step of the Indian government, Danish said, everyone has the right to freedom of expression…Thanks to PM Modi.
In a special conversation with IANS, Danish said, ‘This is a good thing, everyone will benefit from it. Indian PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah took a very good step. This is very good for minorities and Hindus.
‘Being a Hindu and a Sanatani, it is my duty to raise my voice for my fellow people. Being a Hindu, I have a deep connection with Lord Hanuman and Lord Rama. People should not see it as a negative thing, everyone has the right to freedom of expression.
The Union Home Ministry on Monday issued a notification for the rules of CAA.
A Home Ministry spokesperson said, ‘Immigrants seeking citizenship under the CAA will have to submit applications in online mode, for which a web portal has been created.’
Kaneria represented Pakistan in international cricket between 2000 and 2010. He played 61 Test matches for Pakistan and took 261 wickets at an average of 34.79.
The leg spinner also played 18 ODI matches for Pakistan and took 15 wickets. He has taken 1024 wickets in 206 first-class matches, in which he has taken five wickets 71 times and 10 wickets 12 times.
