The earnings of Sunny Deol’s blockbuster film Gadar 2 were slow at the Indian box office on Tuesday. The film collected very little on the 26th day.
As the release date of Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan is coming to the fore. By the way, the roar of Gadar 2 is decreasing. If this condition remains the same, it will not be able to break Pathan’s all-time record.
However, it is expected that it will beat the lifetime collection of Prabhas’ Bahubali: The Conclusion and come at number 2.
On the 26th day of its theatrical release, Gadar 2 collected around Rs 2.5 crore in India. The total box office collection of Gadar 2 in India stood at Rs 506.27 crore.
The film crossed the Rs 500 crore mark domestically on Sunday, becoming the fastest Hindi film to reach the mark.
The Sunny Deol-starrer now aims to break the record held by SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Conclusion, which has become the second highest-grossing Hindi film by collecting Rs 510.99 crore.
‘Pathan’ tops the list with a lifetime collection of Rs 543 crore in India. While Gadar 2 is still maintaining its momentum at the box office, the collections are expected to drop after Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan hits the theaters this Thursday.
Set in Lahore during the year 1971, ‘Gadar 2’ perfectly recreates the captivating action sequences of its prequel, depicting Tara Singh’s relentless rage towards those who incite hatred between India and Pakistan.
It is a sequel to ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’, a 2001 film set against the backdrop of the Partition of India in 1947. The film is said to be based on Buta Singh, a former British Army soldier.
