In the year 2001, Sunny Deol and Anil Sharma together created history with Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. The film created a stir at the box office. The action-packed entertainer based on the backdrop of India-Pakistan partition created a record for being the most watched film of the millennium.
22 years after the historic success of Gadar, Sunny Deol, Anil Sharma, Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma decided to continue the story with Gadar 2. The film hit the big screens during Independence Day.
Fans went crazy to see the pairing of Tara Singh and Sakina in theatres. This movie broke the records of many movies by collecting more than Rs 500 crore.
Now if Pinkvilla’s report is to be believed, Zee Studios has given the green signal to Gadar 3. According to sources, the first round of paperwork has been done between Zee Studios, Anil Sharma and Sunny Deol.
Actually Gadar 2 ended with the promise of Gadar 3 and this was not an announcement made to attract attention. Since the release of the film, Anil Sharma and his team of writers are all set to write a powerful story for the sequel of Gadar.
Like both the parts, the third part will also be based on the background of India-Pakistan conflict, however, this time the entertainment and action scenes will be much bigger. The entire cast is very excited for the third part.
The source further said, “The writing team has received guidelines and they know where to start the story of Tara Singh, Sakina and Jeete. If everything goes as per plan, Gadar 3 may start by the end of 2025.
Speaking to Pinkvilla, Anil Sharma confirmed, “Yes, Tara Singh will be back as we have decided on the basic idea of Gadar 3… I am currently shooting with Utkarsh and Nana Patekar.” I will start working on the script of my next directorial journey Gadar 3 very soon.
Meanwhile, Sunny Deol has started shooting for Lahore: 1947 in February and after that he is in talks to shoot his part of Lord Hanuman in Ramayana. It will also be followed by a sequel to his 1997 blockbuster, Border.
